[Gyodae Restaurant] A Variety of Seafood Platter Party at Jamsubune (잠수부네)

Have You Ever Had One of Those Days?

You know those days.

When you’re just craving seafood.

When you want a variety of seafood,

but a regular sushi restaurant feels... lacking.

When you need a curated seafood experience.

This is the place I recommend without hesitation:

#잠수부네 (Jamsubune)

The Original Location and the Journey to the New Spot

The original location used to be near Yangjae.

When I tried to visit after a long time, it was gone.

So, I headed to the Gyodae branch!

Even on a weekday, it was already crowded.

From what I recall, there are about 10 tables.

It's not too big, but very neat.

The Main Attraction: Seafood Platter

The first thing to get here is the seafood platter.

The dilemma is choosing between the large, medium, or small platter.

For groups of four or more, I recommend the large!

Seafood Platter (Large) 69,000 KRW

Unique Delicacies and Perfect Pairings

The platter includes a variety of seafood, including rare finds like stone octopus.

You have to try it with a shot of soju – it’s like tasting the ocean... Amazing!

The fresh sea squirts (mongge) are perfect with a bit of chojang (vinegar gochujang sauce) and a shot of soju is a must!

The scallops are grilled so perfectly; just a touch of chojang and straight into your mouth!

And right in the center of the seafood platter is the signature diver (a decorative touch).

The presentation is flawless, making you feel like you’re at a sea festival.

The Next Delight: Shellfish Hot Pot

Since we had a large group, we needed more food.

The next choice was the shellfish hot pot (large) for 69,000 KRW.

It includes a whole red crab, among other seafood delights.

It’s slightly different from the usual seafood stew, offering a rich, diverse flavor.

And as it simmers, the broth just gets richer – perfect for a long meal!

gogogo!

The Grand Finale: Jjapaguri (Jjapagetti)

As the feast continued and the drinks flowed, it was time for the final course.

Usually, the finale for dishes like gamjatang or grilled pork belly is fried rice.

Here, it's jjapagetti (instant black bean noodles).

Mixing it up in a dented aluminum pot with a bit of cheese on top...

What can I say? It makes you wonder what you’ve been eating up until now. Jjapagetti here is on another level!

This place feels like the perfect spot to hit after work in the summer when you’re craving seafood. #잠수부네 (Jamsubune) is the place!
